Welcome students, teachers, parents and visitors.... the LMGHS website aims to keep you up to date with the latest school news, events, homework, etc....  the LMGHS class band time schedule for the school week is posted above - please note, the first class period begins at 8:15 AM - it is very important for all students to arrive promptly and attend each of their classes.....   Parents Association events and contact information are available in the column of links on the left-hand side of this web page....   we are currently revising the look, organization and content lmghs.org in order to make it even more useful and easier to navigate - the new website will be active by the end of February 2010....

2010 YEARBOOK AD FORM - REVISED DUE DATE
Attached please find information regarding placing an ad for the 2010 Yearbook. Ads are due by February 26th. Please support this year's senior class, it is your chance to create a memory, to write something special to the one you are proud of and it?s your chance to say good luck. Take out an ad in our 2010 Senior Yearbook by using the attached order form.

New Club Opens - The LMG Book Club
Book Club is filled with great conversations. Here we analyze and discuss our ideas regarding the reading. Our next meeting is Monday, January 25th, after H band in room 408. Our first book is Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson.
Debate Club Meeting Date Moved
The Leon M. Goldstein Debate Club will meet on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 after E- band during club hour. Contact Mr. Gwinn for more information.
Course Selection Days
Students will recieve their course selection sheets during "B" Band on Tuesday, February 9th, there will be a Course Selection Fair in the student cafeteria on Wednesday, February 10th during Club Hour. Please see the attached letter for further information.
Special Assembly for ALL Freshmen/9th Grade Students on Wednesday, March 10th
On Wednesday, March 10th, all 9th grade students will be attending a special assembly at the PAC. Dismissal will be at 2:27 PM instead of 12:41 PM that day.

Great Dance Workshop Opportunity for All SING 2010 Dancers and Boosters
All SING dancers (Junior/Soph and Senior/Fresh) and all Boosters, please see Ms. Baker in Room 445 after school this week (Tuesday to Friday). We have permission slips for you to attend a special dance workshop on Wednesday, March 10th during D and E bands at the PAC.

Sidiki Conde from Young Audiences New York will host this dance workshop. Again, ALL dancers and Boosters are asked to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to learn and improve your dance skills.
Annual Jewish Heritage Essay Contest - Due March 11th
This contest is open to all high school students of all ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds. Download the attachment for all information and prizes. Speak with your social studies teacher if you would like to enter this contest.
Irish American Heritage and Culture Oratory Competition - February 27, 2010
For this year's contest, students will recite Patrick Pearse's Graveside Panegyric for O'Donovan Rossa on August 1, 1915.

High school juniors and seniors can apply for Bank of America?s Neighborhood Excellence Initiative Student Leaders Program. The program recognizes high school students identified as exemplary young people with a passion for helping their communities.
Youth Writing Challenge and Scholarship Opportunity - Due March 8th
High school students are invited to write and illustrate a children's book that discusses the topics of tolerance and diversity.
